Project Three for Schools without Ceramics Facilities:
Wallpaper Patterned Pots

Suitable for all Key Stages

Overview
This is a very simple project designed to get pupils to understand how a pattern can change once it is applied to a three dimensional form, and also how that three dimensional form can appear to be changed once it has a pattern or texture applied to it. This is something people who work in ceramic have to consider.

Materials needed
Patterned / textured paper / old wallpaper sample books, or large sheets of sugar paper, various colours
Scissors
Glue - prit stick is ideal
A “former” to roll the paper around to make the cylinder - washing up bottle / rolling pin / stiff cardboard roll etc.
Pens, pencils, ruler
