"I produce two distinctly different types of work; a series of large-scale
textural bowls and a range of thrown porcelain. The bowls are left unglazed
and made from a variety of different clay bodies - porcelain, red brick
clay and a manganese black body. Narrative is important, and I aim as
much as possible, to let the pictures tell the story of their making -
describing individual processes.
The tableware is made to be functional, to be a pleasure to use. I enjoy
working within the framework of the set, using a family group/set of pots
to explore a range of possible outcomes of a particular theme or idea."
High fired thrown porcelain.
