"The stacking boxes and the tableware set were produced as a response to my ongoing research into Danish/Scandinavian ceramics design, inspired by my own Danish background.
Functionality plays a key role in my ceramic work and the tableware set was designed to incorporate multifunctional inter-changeable objects, such as a bowl, a beaker, and a box with a lid, which also functions as a saucer. The forms of all the pieces are kept as simplistic and geometrical as possible.
Applying chintzy flower transfers, as part of the surface decoration is my way of acknowledging and including aspects of 'Englishness', which somehow is the antithesis of what my designs represent."
White earthenware, slipcast, with industrial transfers.
