"I work on themes that are connected with my life (theatre), or in which I have a deep interest (music, urban landscape). The contradictions in ceramic materials, strong though fragile, malleable yet rigid, express the contrasts I see in these themes - theatre's reality, ambivalence in large scale industry, stress in music making. These contrasts can lead to humour and beauty which I hope viewers can see in my work."
